Vision and mission

Direction signsIn response to the recommendation in positive steps that the voluntary and community sector needs an ICT strategy the ICT Consortium NI took on the task of developing a draft strategy by March 2007.

The consortium has provided specialist expertise, research, direction, communication channels and ongoing support to bring this draft strategy to fruition. A summary of the research is available online.

Further consultation with the sector will be facilitated online through this site in addition to a consultation day on 17 April.

Vision

Voluntary and community sector organisations in Northern Ireland are connected, creative, confident and competent in harnessing ICT to help achieve their goals

Mission

To build a range of impartial advice, information and online training to help organisations, and stakeholders, manage and develop their ICT capability. Using a collaborative, responsive and flexible mix of online and regional workshops the two year programme will deliver an increase in innovative and effective use of ICT.

What the ICT consortium members can’t do;

  • Enforce standards or specific hardware and software platforms
  • Directly deliver on-site ICT support for organisations
  • Fund ICT development for specific organisations
